This is my first solo flamenco guitar recording! It's a 4 track EP with 4 original compositions for flamenco guitar in the styles of Colombianas, Alegrías, Soleá and a slow, melodic non-traditional Bulerías.

I've named the EP after an unusual and anomalous group of flowers that grow only on the Iberian Peninsula and in Ireland. Very little is understood about why these Spanish plants appear on our island. The soil and climate of their wet and green second home produce something unique and new, whilst never losing the perfume and appearance of their southern brothers and sisters.

Cumbres Verdes is in the flamenco style of Colombianas - one of the 'ida y vuelta' or 'there and back' styles - influenced by Cuban music of the 19th and early 20th century. The title references Ardglass (Green Heights in English), the Co Down fishing port where I wrote it in 2020.

El Crisol - invokes the melting pot of Andalucía where the magical alchemy of music and dance from Iberia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and South Asia come together in the beauty of flamenco. It's in the flamenco style of Bulerías - albeit slower and more melody focussed than the traditional type.

Desde La Cuna was written during travels in Western Andalucía and the Guadalquivir basin, the cradle of flamenco culture.

Pescaíto, my Alegrías - references my favourite dish from the city of Cádiz - Pescaito Frito - Little Fried Fishes!
